Epson Stylus SX200
Written by admin on November 5, 2009 – 3:32 pmChoosing a multifunction inkjet printer can be difficult as there are a number of pitfalls that you need to look out for before committing to a purchase. One of which is expensive running costs in terms of expensive printers cartridges. The Epson Stylus SX200 is a cheap multifunction printer that looks impressive on paper but it slightly different to budget multifunction printers from other brands because Epson SX200 ink cartridges some in the form of four individual Epson ink cartridges, which basically means that you only have to replace each colour when it has run out, making it an affordable printer in the long run. The main focus of Epson’s attention has gone into the printer on the SX200 and it shows with great quality prints of a variety of documents from general text to high resolution artwork and photo prints. The Built-in A4 flatbed scanner is just as impressive, suitable for scanning anything from a basic sketch drawing to a old photo you want to keep in digital format. The other feature of the Stylus SX200 is a combination of the printer and scanner and that is the copier function. Able to work standalone the SX200 is a very convenient feature although its not really suitable for large volumes because the printing speed of the SX200 is a little bit slow. Official figures sate the SX200 is capable for 34ppm (pages per minute) but this is not a realistic figure and the best we could get out of it in standard quality mode was 4ppm. Another PC-free functions of the SX200 is the direct printing from memory cards and digital cameras thanks to its built-in memory card reader and PictBridge connection.
